The HG Stingrays Swim Team Board extends a big thank-you to all our swim families—your support keeps us going strong and we’re excited for another fantastic summer season in 2026!
Summer is right around the corner, and the HG Stingrays are gearing up for another fun and competitive season in the pool!
Registration is CLOSED for 2026.
About the Team
The HG Stingrays compete in the Tarheel Swimming Association (TSA), offering a fun, team-based, and competitive experience since 1993. To join, swimmers must be current members of Harrington Grove Swim & Racquet Club.
This is a great opportunity for your child to build swim skills, develop sportsmanship, and be part of a supportive team environment.
Skill Requirements
There are no tryouts to join, but basic swim skills and stroke mechanics are important. We highly encourage swim lessons for new or inexperienced swimmers before the season begins. Many of our coaches offer private swim lessons. You must contact the coaches directly since this is not offered via the swim team. Each coach has their own schedule, rates, etc.
🔹 Minimum requirement: Swimmers must be able to swim 15 yards unassisted (the standard race length for 6 & under).
🔹 Swim assessments will be conducted for younger swimmers.
🔹 Swimmers not quite ready will be encouraged to join Little Stingers, a safe and fun introduction to swimming for kids ages 4–7.
Age Groups
Your child’s age group is determined by their age as of June 1, 2026.

Volunteer Requirements:
Our swim meets wouldn’t be possible without the help of our amazing parent volunteers!
To keep everything running smoothly, each family is required to volunteer at three swim meets during the season. Assignments will be made based on your availability and the team’s needs.
Need to make a change?
If you're unable to fulfill your assigned role or date, it’s your responsibility to find a replacement. Please coordinate swaps directly with other parents.
No-shows create major challenges for our team and place extra stress on other volunteers. We count on every family to do their part.
