STINGRAY SCOOP Swim Meet Tuesday, June 11th @ Harrington Grove Stingrays vs. Quail Hollow
June 11th
General Info:
- Swimmer Check in and Set up volunteers arrive @ 4:15 pm
- All other volunteers arrive @ 4:45 pm (check in at the table under the tent on the pool deck)
- Swimmers arrive and warm up @ 5:00 pm (check in at the table outside)
- Meet starts @ 6:00 pm
- Bring chairs, snacks, towels, goggles
- Do not park in the parking lot
- If you are new to the team, home meets can be quite crowded and run long
- Please help keep your swimmers fed and entertained
- Swimmers should wear their team shirt to the meet and a team suit or black suit.
- 6 and unders compete in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. After breaststroke, your family is free to go.
- 7/8's, 9/10's, 11/12's, 13/14's and 15-18's will compete in medley relay and freestyle relay. These swimmers may only swim in three individual main events per meet. Coaches will determine the events and heat in which the swimmers will participate. 7/8's and 9/10's have kid pushers.
- THE MEET WILL LAST UNTIL 9:30-10:00. At home meets, we have the concession stand to provide snacks and we always try and have a food truck (or hot dogs) and dessert truck. It's a good idea to pack water and healthy snacks/sandwiches, though, to get you and your gang through the meet.
- Can I drink alcohol? Nope.
- Can my kids run around on deck to burn off energy? No. Pool rules still rule.
- Can we park in the parking lot? No.
- If you are unable to volunteer, please find a replacement. The easiest way is to post on our FB page or peek at the volunteer sheet to see if someone doing the same job can just switch dates. Be sure to let our coordinators know about the change to the schedule: Lisa Burnham Bakowski and Rosie Quinn.
- If your kid(s) cannot attend the meet, please make sure you log into your Swimtopia account to make the change. If it's very last minute, please let Coach Peyton or a member of the swim team board know.
- If your swimmer is in a Medley Relay, please take note of the stroke order: Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, Freestyle
- If you want to be an overachiever, you can also write your swimmers events on their arms: Event, Heat, Lane, Stroke. This is more for kids 11+ since other age groups have kid pushers.
- Just a reminder that 11+ swimmers will need to pay close attention when their events are coming up since that age group doesn’t have signage.
- Hot dog stand (proceeds benefit Leesville High Murphy's Scholars)
- Lucky Cart Ice Cream
- If you can walk/bike on down, that would be ideal. If you are driving, please park on either side of the street. You cannot park in the lot for home meets. We reserve the lot for our guest team.
