Harrington Grove Swim & Racquet Club is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head Summer Swim Coach to lead our Stingrays Swim Team for the 2026 summer season.

Located off Leesville Road in the Harrington Grove neighborhood, our club serves swimmers ages 5–18 competing in the HGSRC Stingrays Swim League from May through July. This is a 20–25 hours/week role with practices held in the late afternoons and early evenings, making it ideal for someone looking for meaningful, part-time work with daytime flexibility. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

About the Role

Our swimmers span a wide range of skill levels, and we’re looking for a coach who brings strong leadership, consistency, positivity, and a growth mindset. You’ll oversee the entire swim program, supported by an Assistant Coach and a team of Junior Coaches, and play a key role in shaping both athlete development and team culture.

The season includes six dual meets, one mock meet (weeknights), and one weekend championship meet at the end of the summer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement age- and developmentally-appropriate training programs focused on technique, stroke mechanics, speed, and style
  • Plan and lead daily practices and all swim meets
  • Schedule, mentor, and manage Assistant and Junior Coaching staff, emphasizing safety and skill development
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating team environment for swimmers and coaches
  • Manage meet entries, lineups, and swimmer data using TeamUnify (or similar platforms)
  • Maintain accurate team records, times, and practice data
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with swim team parents
  • Set goals, expectations, and delegate responsibilities across the coaching team

Qualifications

  • Strong background in competitive swimming and stroke mechanics
  • Experience with age-appropriate training and dryland techniques
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to build a positive and engaging team culture
  • Swim instruction coursework, certifications, or relevant licensure (as required)
  • First aid training recommended
